New Program Helps Latina Women Prevent and Cope with the Early Signs of Depression

Did you know that Latina women are at twice the risk of depression than men? 

Many stresses can add up, especially for immigrant women. Being a "good mother", wife or daughter can mean putting other people's needs first, and not having the time to take care of themselves. Uncertainty about immigration, being undocumented, or dealing with lower education or poverty can add more pressure.

A new program in Ventura County is educating women about the early signs of depression. MICOP and the Promotoras y Promotores Foundation have joined together in:
